DIEGO ROSSANO
Diego Rossano is a Full Professor in Economic Law (IUS/05) at the "Parthenope" University of Naples. In 2006 he earned a PhD in “Community Public Finance” at the University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli”. He was a researcher in Private Law at the "Parthenope" University of Naples from 2005 to 2012 and in Economic Law from 2012 to 2016. He was an Associate Professor in Economic Law at the"Parthenope" University of Naples from 2016 to 2019. Since 21/04/2009, he has been a lawyer enrolled in the Lawyers’ Order Association of Naples.
Currently, he is Associated Investigator of the Research Projects of national interest (PRIN 2022 – PRIN 2022 PNNR) and Principal Investigator of the National Interest Research Projects (PRIN 2020). From 01/01/2024 to 30/06/2025 he holds a scientific responsibility role in a Interreg Euro-MED Project. He was also a member of following research team: «International Law and Governance» and «Companies, Markets, Society and the Environment» of University di Oslo; «International Research Group of ‘Brexit’» of ‘Centre for Banking and Finance’ Regent’s University of London; and "Gruppo di ricerca sui profili evolutive della regolazione italiana in materia assicurativa, bancaria e finanziaria, alla luce del benchmark europeo" sponsored by «CERSIG» “LINK .
He has authored or co-authored of three monographs, nine curatorships and at more of 100 publications.
His reasearch interests lie in the banking and financial market law, with a focus on several key areas:
- Regulation of banking and financial crisis
- Out-of-court banking and financial dispute resolution tools
- Contracts in financial intermediation
- Innovation law
- Emergency economic legislation during the Covid-19 era,
- Maritime insurance law
He has been a speaker and scientific organizer at a lot of national conferences, seminars and round tables. He is the director of the Mediterranea area of «Dialoghi di diritto dell’economia», and a member of the Editorial Board of «Open Review of Management, banking and finance», «Rivista Trimestrale di Diritto dell’Economia», « Law and Economics Yearly Review», «Contratto e Impresa Europa», «Commentario al testo unico delle leggi in materia bancaria e creditizia», «Studi di diritto dell’economia», «Strumenti e modelli di diritto dell’economia». He is a member of the scientific and steering Committee of «Euro Balkan Law and Economics Review», «Giurimetrica, Rivista di Diritto, Banca e Finanza», «Diritto dei Mercati», «European Law and Finance Review», «Archivio Giuridico Sassarese. Rivista internazionale di diritto privato antico e contemporaneo». He is a member of the executive committee of the Association of Economics Law Professors (ADDE). Since the 2021/2022 academic year, he has been teaching the course in Securities Market Law at San Raffaele University. Additionally, he has served as a guest lecturer at various universities, including Ca' Foscari University of Venice, LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome, and Federico II University of Naples. In 2024, he is also an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Directors of the company ‘Farmacosmo S.p.A.’ and Chairman of the Asset Management Company ‘Sgr I-Value (Intrum Group)’. He is an external consultant for the British-American international law firm “Hogan Lovells – Rome.
